Celebrating India! Happy Independence Day!!!

Dear All,
Our country mother India celebrating her 61-freedom day. We should feel proud of ourselves having born in this great country, which unites people with diverse habits and culture.

However, our country is torn with castism, terror attack and mother India is reeling. She needs strong support of peace loving people and good leaders.
- Pray for peace.
- Be kind to human being.
- Fight against insurgency.
- Give freedom to your tense and cramped life occasionally.
- Use your wisdom to select good leaders to lead our country.
- Give freedom to your child to play and freedom of expression.
- Give your friends, peers and colleagues to express their opinion.
- Give freedom to your parents shower love on you even if you are grown up (not to put them in old age homes).

must reade

Please read this article by giving 10 minutes from your busy life. Really
good.... ** *

* The President of India DR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam 's Speech in Hyderabad ..*

Why is the media here so negative?
Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our
achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success
stories but we refuse acknowledge them--- Why?
We are the first in milk production.
We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.
We are the second largest producer of wheat.
We are the second largest producer of rice.
Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a
self-sustaining, self-driving unit.
There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in
the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the
day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The
Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a
Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid
and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The
gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the
newspaper, buried among other news.

In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.

Why are we so NEGATIVE?

Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things?
We want foreign T. Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.

Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that
self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this
lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what
her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India . For
her, you and I will have to build this developed India . You must proclaim.
India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.

Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance.

Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is
yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient.
YOU say that our laws are too old.
YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.
YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke,
The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.
YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?

Take a person on his way to Singapore . Give him a name - YOURS. Give him
aface - YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International
best. In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in
the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay
$5 (approx. Rs. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim
Causeway or Pedder Road ) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the
parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a
restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity... In
Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU?

YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai ..
YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah .
YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at
10 pounds ( Rs.650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are
billed to someone else.'
YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then
tell the traffic cop,'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I
am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.'
YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage
pail on the beaches in Australia and New
Zealand
.
Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo ? Why don't YOU use
examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ??? We are still
talking of the same YOU.
YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but
cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the
moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative
citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India ?

Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay , Mr.
Tinaikar , had a point to make. 'Rich people's dogs are walked on the
streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place,' he said. 'And
then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for
inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the
officers to do? Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure
in his bowels? In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has
done the job. Same in Japan .. Will the Indian citizen do that here?' He's
right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all
responsibility.

We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do
everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the
government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all
over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper
and throw it in the bin.
We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to
learn the proper use of bathrooms.
We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and
toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.
This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to
the public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related
towomen, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing room
protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse?
'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone
forego my sons' rights to a dowry.' So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of ? Very conveniently for us it consists of our
neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the
government. But definitely not me and YOU.
When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we
lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the
distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.Clean to come along & work
miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country
and run away. Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to
bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure
we run to England . When England experiences unemployment, we take the next
flight out
to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and
brought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rape
the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is
mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a greatdeal
of introspection and pricks one's conscience too.... I am echoing J. F.
Kennedy 's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians.....

'ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA
AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA
WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY'

Lets do what India needs from us.

Forward this mail to each Indian for a change instead of sending Jokes or
junk mails.

Thank you,

Dr. Abdul Kalaam

.......I humbly request you to forward this to every Indian......

GOOD MORNING

GOOD MORNING

A Lovely Good Morning To You !!!!!*

We might not meet, we might not chat,

but we would still be friends,

you better don't forget that..

Times would go passing by,

changes would come with you and I,

our lives destiny would shape,

as with time progress we make.

Distance would take us away miles & miles,

we might not even see each others smiles.

We might not help each other; but still let not,

our friendship wither..

The magic of friendship would call me

and I would miss you then

thinking..

together we would be when ....

REAL FRIEND TEST

*REAL FRIEND TEST!*
* This is GOOD...I expect it back too!
I especially like the last sentence!!!!!!

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself
and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your
'beer/Pepsi drawer' with her foot! *

* A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend shoulder is soggy from your tears.. *

*A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.*

*A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.*

*A simple friend hates it when you call after they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.*

*A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.*

*A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it!* *

**A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight. *

*A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you! *

*A simple friend reads this e-mail and deletes it.
A real friend passes it on and sends it back to you!*

*Pass this on to anyone you care about......if you
get it back you have no beginning, no end.*

*It keeps us together, like our Circle of Friends.
Today I pass this on to you.
Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you.. *

* 'Never frown, even when you are sad,
because you never know who is falling in love with your smile. '*

ring.

8. You won't have to tolerate someone else defining, "right" and "wrong" for
u

9. Girlfriend can get so possessive that you can't do anything according ur

Poems - I Believe...

Poems - I Believe...I believe-

that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

I believe-

that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every
once in a while and you must forgive
them for that.

I believe-

that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I believe-

that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I believe-

that it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I believe-

that you should always leave loved ones
with loving words. It may be the last
time you see them.

I believe-

that you can keep going
long after you can't.

I believe-

that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.

I believe-

that either you control your attitude
or it controls you.

I believe-

that regardless of how hot and
steamy a relationship is at first,
the passion fades and there had
better be something else to take
its place.

I believe-

that heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I believe-

that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe-

that my best friend and I can do anything
or nothing and have the best time.

I believe-

that sometimes the people you expect
to kick you when you're down,
will be the ones to help you get back up.

I believe-

that sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me
the right to be cruel.

I believe-

that just because someone doesn't love
you the way you want them to doesn't
mean they don't love you with all they have.

I believe-

that maturity has more to do with
what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many
birthdays you've celebrated.

I believe-

that it isn't always enough to be
forgiven by others. Sometimes you
have to learn to forgive yourself.

I believe-

that no matter how bad your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I believe-

that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we become.

I believe-

that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.

I believe-

that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a
secret. It could change your life forever.

I believe-

that two people can look at the exact
same thing and see something totally.
different.

I believe-

that your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I believe-

that even when you think you have no more
to give, when a friend cries out to you
you will find the strength to help.

I believe-

that credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

I believe-

that the people you care about most in life
are taken from you too soon.

if Tomorrow Starts Without Me...

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me...
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye For all my life,
I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,

That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
The thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you,
and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,

From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity, And all I've promised you."
Today your life on earth is past, But here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.
You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times You did some things You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven And now at last you're free.
So won't you come and take my hand And share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
